PickyEggheads.com is a Toronto based website that allows readers to find the best reviewed books on a given subject. The goal is to help readers save time in coming to informed decisions about the books they want to read. We begin by surveying reviews in recognized journals and book review publications. When necessary, we also rely on a partially automated process that compares the number of holdings in select university libraries, the number of reviews, citations, and Amazon sales rankings. This is helpful when several well-reviewed books are available in a subject area. We then analyze these reviews and sources and recommend books on a subject according to criteria traditionally used by book reviewers: readability, detail, originality, etc.
